Profile of a Successful Aboriginal Woman Dr. Shannon McDonald

 It took her a long time to acquire self-confidence, but once she did she trained as a physician, completing her MD in 1998 (at the tender age of 40), followed with post-graduate medical training in Community Medicine and Psychiatry. She has had broad experience at multiple levels of health care service delivery and health administration in challenging environments. Since the recording of this interview, Shannon has been promoted to the position of Deputy Chief Medical Officer, First Nations Health Authority, BC 

In her interview with ICN’s Guy Dancause, Dr. McDonald shares her experience in negotiating her path to success. She also shares an important piece of advise with viewers, that dare to dream.
