Communities Today: Many Canadian communities currently face a host of challenges. They include high costs and shortages of housing, labour shortages, an aging population, rising mental illness and addiction, threats to public safety, aging and failing infrastructure, obstacles to adaptation to climate change effects, and the departure of young citizens. It has become ever more difficult to find the time and make the effort to shape an acceptable future for the community.

Yet, all communities have strengths, regardless of their size.

Community leadership seeks to promote durable progress by designing and managing budgets to best address the realities of the most urgent needs.
