The Proteus Canada Institute is exploring through a vision building process (Foresight Method) the idea of creating a not-for-profit Canada-Wide Indigenous Women Entrepreneurial Ecosystem,  run by women for women, to foster entrepreneurship among Indigenous women as a core component of their prosperity. The challenges are many including the need for opportunities to enter the market place, to gain the requisite tools, including business, financial, marketing, sales training, as well as the establishment mentorship and coaching.

The survey is one of a number of steps in exploring the potential of creating a Canada wide Indigenous Women Entrepreneurial Ecosystem. Other steps, include one-on-one consultations, scanning and the use of Foresight methods all for the purpose to help think about the future.

The scanning of past-studies enables the identification of changes  in the environment that could have a significant implication in a program.  Foresight are NOT processes trying to predict the future. Foresight methods are use to explore the range of plausible futures that may emerge. It also helps to identify assumptions and strategies to prepare for an uncertain future.

On April 17 and April 26 each day at 12:30 p.m. EST within the framework of foresight methods a national panel will explore live online  the idea of creating a not-for-profit Canada-Wide Indigenous Women Entrepreneurial Ecosystem.   Early may we will publish a study report.
