Marie-Cecile Nottaway

Marie-Cecile (Cezin) Nottaway… one of only seven 2016 Award recipients in the Province of Quebec

She gently pulls canoes out of fortune-cookie dough, bakes a mean bannock and does not shy away from roasting a beaver. Martha Stewart, eat your heart out— or Marie-Cecile Nottaway will do it for you. It”s how Martha Troian wrote about Marie-Cecile in Indian Country back in 2012.

Her friends call her Cezin, she is the Chef and owner of Wawatay Catering. She has received a number of accolades over the years, but this year she has received a big one the ARISTA.

Marie Cecile was selected by a jury of some 40 business professionals as one of seven up and coming and innovative  personalities in the Province of Quebec, category “autonomous worker”. The award was presented at a gala organized by the Montreal Young Chamber of Commerce and BMO. It was attended by more than four hundred guests.

Cezin has also received the Hydro Quebec Award (Coup de coeur) as a driving force in business.

What a role model.
